Color matching for the samples your customers bring in

The X-Rite MetaVue imaging spectrophotometer helps paint counters measure small, textured and irregular samples, including materials such as carpet, vinyl, fabric and wood trim. Its on-screen targeting and live sample preview help the operator choose the area to measure.

A measurement is the starting point, not a finished paint formula. The result also depends on sample condition, the supported formula-software workflow, the store’s paint and colorant data, dispensing and mixing.

Sometimes it refuses to calibrate Everything is clean but it still will not operate correctly. And sometimes it refuses to scan a color for not apparent reason.

Had to drop you a note to share our positive experiences switching out our older spectrophotometer to the new MetaVue. Our Ace Hardware stores share one thing in common; our paint department is our number 1 department. We have always prided ourselves on the ability to create custom matches and scan a variety of unique customer items to create unique colors. The Metavue opened up a world of customer satisfaction unknown to us. The amazing accuracy with very small sample sizes is incredible. Our miss-tinted paint due to scans is non existent. As an owner, I could not be happier with that stat. Our staff immediately bought into the updated software and scanning tools. I wouldn’t have a paint department without one.

MetaVue and your store software

MetaVue measures the sample. Formula software uses that measurement with the store’s supported paint, base and colorant data to produce a usable formula. The instrument and the formula-software workflow are separate parts of the system.

ColoRx and ColorDesigner PLUS are distinct workflows. Before adding or replacing equipment, confirm the MetaVue instrument, software version, formula database, dispenser driver and PC with the providers supporting your store’s configuration.

Buying the MetaVue instrument alone is different from buying a complete W90 workstation bundle. Start with the equipment and software already in use to determine which components your store needs.
