What color matching technology does
A spectrophotometer measures how a sample reflects light. Formula software then uses that reading to identify or create a formula compatible with the store’s paint, base, and colorant system. The dispenser and mixer complete the process.
How a match becomes paint
- Start with a clean sample. A paint chip, siding piece, cabinet door, fabric, or other customer sample gives the system something to measure.
- Measure the color. The instrument captures the sample’s color data, including subtle differences the eye cannot judge reliably.
- Build the formula. Formula software translates that reading into a practical formula for the store’s compatible system.
- Dispense and mix. Automatic dispensing and mixing help produce a repeatable finished paint.
