The CF57 and CFS57 spectrophotometers are the classic answer to color matching. Both of these devices are tried and true, and guaranteed to offer your business years of color matching accuracy. The difference between the models from the outside is nearly indistinguishable, however, on the inside these two instruments cannot be more unique. The CF57 is an 0/45° spectro and the CFS57 is a sphere spectro. Below we lay out the difference between the two devices.
Each of the spectros in this series have distinct advantages
CF57 - 0/45° Geometry
0/45° technology is the preferred geometry for most hardware dealers. Not only does it offer a great color match but the construction of the unit allows for years of use in dusty and other harsh environments. The reliance on a "clean room" type of instrument interior is greatly reduced and accurate matches can be obtained with little or no maintenance on the unit for years and years. This is the right choice for most hardware retailers, as it requires little servicing.CFS57 - Sphere Geometry
Sphere units are the best when you often match very rough surfaces. If your store is in a location where most homes are stucco or other rough materials, or if you find yourself constantly matching very loose weave fabrics, you may wish to consider the CFS57 for its sphere geometry. While the outside is rugged and nearly indiscernible from that of the CF57, the pure white interior of the CFS57 unit must be kept free of dust and debris and will require servicing more often than its twin brother. The CF57 / CFS57 Spectrophotometers both Feature
Steel Exterior Construction
STEELThe paint department is not a forgiving place. That is why MatchRite has created the CF series of devices out of steel. This steel construction withstands rubber hammers, bumps with cans and the like without batting an eye. The CF instruments are built to live where you work.Easy to Use Sample Holding Arm
The sample holding arm serves triple duty, as a door to keep out dust and debris when the instrument is not in use, as a holder for cards and chips when taking a measurement, and as a storage unit for the calibration plate. Calibration tiles are very expensive. You will never pay to replace the tile as it is connected to the spectro!
Simple USB Interface
The CF series of spectros does away with complicated serial ports and port assignments with a simple to use USB interface. This interface is plug and play with most versions of Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.
Long Lasting! Tungsten Filament Light Source
The CF57 and the CFS57 both feature a custom made light source formed out of the best elements available. This custom fabricated bulb uses tungsten as its light emitting filament, delivering long life and repeatable results for years and years.
